PAINTINDIA 2012 with a more and more global face
  • Increased numbers: 56 % more exhibitors, 11 % more visitors
  • Heavy traffic at the booth of the “Leading Coatings Exhibitions”

PAINTINDIA 2012, from February 23−25, 2012 in Mumbai, wowed as a coatings event of many faces. India’s leading exhibition for paints, coatings, inks, construction chemicals and adhesives sealants industries has been the scene of many smiles. More than 10.000 attendees were very pleased with the great number of product innovations that were showcased by the 286 exhibitors and the high quality of conference topics and speakers at the accompanying nine conference sessions. Additionally, this year’s PAINTINDIA presented itself with a more and more global face. The participation of international visitors was increased by 29 percent. It was the first time that three partners − Colour Publications Pvt Ltd., Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse − worked together to further promote the international success of PAINTINDIA as a member of the “Leading Coatings Exhibitions”. At a special booth, lots of visitors were informed about the cooperation of the world’s leading exhibitions for coatings: PAINTINDIA,European Coatings SHOW, American Coatings SHOW and paintistanbul. The next PAINTINDIA will take place in Mumbai from March 6−8, 2014.
 
The Indian paint & coatings market is certainly one of the fastest growing segments in the global coatings industry. Orr & Boss, Inc. estimates that the size of the Indian coatings market was INR 200 billion in 2011. Roughly 70 percent of the market is represented by the decorative segment; the industrial coatings segment constitutes the remaining 30 percent.
Due to increased commercial and government investment the industrial segment promises fast growth rates. From February 23−25, 2012, PAINTINDIA created a perfect window to witness these growth rates: According to Dilip Raghavan, Managing Director of Colour Publications, the organizer of the exhibition, PAINTINDIA 2012 was a trade fair of superlatives.

The trade show not only doubled the exhibition space (2010: 4,700 sqm/ 2012: 9,500 sqm), but also increased the participation of exhibitors by 56 percent. 286 exhibitors (2010: 183) from 26 (2010: 19) countries showcased their products and services.It offered industry professionals a unique overview of the latest trends in raw materials, laboratory and production equipment and other services for the coatings and paint industry.

For Claus Rättich, Member of the NürnbergMesse Management Board, PAINTINDIA 2012 has fulfilled its reputation as the first place for a thorough overview of Indian coatings products and as the most important platform for international companies to enter the Indian market. In addition to experienced international exhibitors like BYK, BASF, Dow, Bayer MaterialScience, Merck, Clariant etc., the trade show welcomed a number of newcomers to the show, including Momentive, Lubrizol, Ashland, Huntsman, etc. Visitors made their way from 54 countries to Mumbai. The main reasons for their visit were the search for new suppliers (68 %), the possibility of business alliances (52 %) and product information (49 %, multiple option entries).

Strong interest in the Leading Coatings Cooperation

Juergen Nowak, Publisher at Vincentz Network, and Alexander Mattausch, Exhibition Director of the European Coatings SHOW at NürnbergMesse, were very satisfied with the strong interest of the PAINTINDIA visitors in the “Leading Coatings Exhibitions” cooperation. Within this cooperation, the organizers of PAINTINDIA, European Coatings SHOW, American Coatings SHOW and paintistanbul work together to tap marketing synergies and provide a valuable global platform for exhibitors to gain a foothold in new markets. At a special booth, a lot of visitors and exhibitors informed about the marketing alliance and its opportunities for exhibitors to reach the key coatings markets in Europe, North America, Far East and India.
