Dr Auma Obama: Committed to helping children and young people

by

Dr. Auma Obama, Keynote, opening event 2016

She campaigns for ecological, economic and social sustainability and is dedicated to helping children and young people through her work with various relief organisations and her own Sauti Kuu Foundation, which helps them take control of their own lives. Dr Auma Obama, the half-sister of former US President Barack Obama, was a guest of BIOFACH and VIVANESS from 10 to 13 February 2016. She opened the leading fair for organic foods and the international trade fair for natural cosmetics with a keynote speech on sustainability in the raw materials sector. In her address she drew special attention to issues of individual responsibility and organic agriculture.

We conducted a short interview with Dr Auma Obama before her appearance at the events in which we asked her about her core commitment and the benefits for the future generation of doing business ecologically and sourcing raw materials sustainably. In the next issue of Messe+Co magazine we will present a detailed portrait of Dr Auma Obama and her commitment to children and young people in Kenya and Germany.
