Pioneers and innovators in the medical technology sector have discovered a new platform for sharing ideas and knowledge: MT-CONNECT, the international trade fair for suppliers and manufacturers of medical technology, made its debut at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg on 21 and 22 June 2017. At the same time, researchers and developers from the sector gathered at the international medical technology congress MedTech Summit.
The focus of the two eventful trade fair days was on nothing less than the future of our health. One of the key issues for exhibitors and visitors alike was digitalisation – from robot-assisted operations and electronic medication plans accessible from ambulance to GP surgery to the interconnection of all medical equipment in a hospital. Exhibitors also provided an outlook on medicine of the future, showcasing products such as nano-coated implants for better bio-compatibility or wound healing solutions using cold plasma.
MT-CONNECT welcomed recent start-ups with promising concepts as well as established companies and market-ready products. The aim of the new exhibition format is to offer a dialogue platform for manufacturers and suppliers, researchers and developers and end users, and in doing so to drive the growth in medical technology applications.
