In this 16th year of the event, embedded world has once again convincingly demonstrated that it is worthy of its reputation as the leading trade fair for the international embedded community. Numbers were up yet again in 2018: In six exhibition halls, 1,021 (+1%) companies from around the world showed 32,217 (+7.3%) embedded experts from 78 nations where the journey in the Internet of Things and the increasingly digitalised world is taking us. But it wasn’t just in the halls that the latest developments were under the spotlight: The embedded world and electronic displays conferences also enjoyed record-breaking attendance, welcoming 2,176 delegates and speakers from 52 countries. For the 14th time, the Embedded Award was presented to innovative and visionary products. Another highlight was the 9th embedded world Student Day, which attracted more than 1,000 students from all over Europe. At this year’s Student Day, Dr Christoph Kucklick, Editor-in-Chief of Geo magazine, gave an inspiring and entertaining talk on the joys and perils of being an engineer.
