According to AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, the international character of German trade fairs is their most important asset in global competition. This is also borne out by a look at the exhibition halls of NürnbergMesse, where 41% of all visitors and exhibitors are from outside Germany. Participants in trade fairs in Germany receive support from about 50 international representatives in more than 116 countries.

International representatives offer a valuable all-inclusive service to exhibitors, trade visitors and journalists. They provide a full service, from market overview and choice of exhibition stand to helping with organisation and trade fair participation. One of their most important jobs is to give companies comprehensive support and simplify all aspects of their participation in the event. International representatives are there to help with so-called “technical” issues, including stand builders, logistics, marketing tools and travel and accommodation. They also handle a host of other issues relating to a company’s trade fair exhibit or its participation in a pavilion. Before the event they help with visa applications, organise travel and assist with the procurement of everything the exhibitor needs, from translation services to local skilled personnel and specialists. To make it all work, they consult closely with companies in their home country and also maintain close contact with the media. Companies especially appreciate having direct contact with partners that speak the same language throughout the trade fair preparation phase.

France offers a good example of how collaboration with an international representative can work. Our near neighbour plays a special role at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. With 680 exhibitors in 2016, France ranks seventh among our international exhibitors. In the visitor rankings, France comes in at fifth place with 130,000 visitors. OTSA, with which NürnbergMesse has already successfully collaborated in the UK, has recently become the main point of contact for French exhibitors and trade visitors. At a press conference in Paris to introduce the new international representative, Sibylle Courtois, Director of OTSA in France, described the future collaboration. For her, providing services and giving advice are activities of great importance to local companies, associations and partners: “We know what French companies need when it comes to their trade fair exhibits. We help with all kinds of questions, from the suitability of a particular trade fair to issues like logistics and stand construction.”

Alongside the successful trade fairs and congresses in Nuremberg, OTSA also offers French exhibitors the advantage of being able to draw on NürnbergMesse’s worldwide network of exhibitions. As one of the 15 largest exhibition organisers in the world, the company hosts more than 30 trade fairs worldwide, primarily in Brazil, China and India. These trade fairs and congresses are on a par with the leading events in Nuremberg and help French companies tap into growth markets all over the world.

Another of OTSA’s roles as international representative in France is to assist companies with their export strategy. This means that it regularly informs its customers about the ever-expanding selection of trade fairs offered by the NürnbergMesse Group, including those in major export markets like BRICS and the USA. And as a privileged partner to NürnbergMesse, international representatives can supply their customers and the press with data, facts and figures about all the markets and sectors where the group has a presence.

NürnbergMesse is delighted to welcome its new addition. “Bienvenue à bord!”
