The 55 visitors from Athens enjoyed a varied and wide-ranging programme that included soaking up the trade fair atmosphere at BrauBeviale and a guided tour of the exhibition grounds, as well as learning about the history of Nuremberg in the course of a city tour and visit to the Documentation Centre. There was also a “matchmaking event” with colleagues from NürnbergMesse to allow everyone to get to know one another better and further intensify their shared points of contact in the daily work routine.
Official reception in Athens
At its financial statement press conference in Athens in July, NürnbergMesse announced its entry into the Greek market. Greek market leader FORUM S.A. has now officially become part of the NürnbergMesse Group; this was celebrated in style at an exclusive gala evening in the Acropolis Museum at the end of September. As well as Adonis Georgiadis, Minister for Economic Development and Investment, Nikos Makropoulus, Deputy Mayor of Athens, Ernst Reichel, German ambassador in Athens and the Vice-President of the Bavarian Parliament, Karl Freller, around 300 high-ranking guests from the political and business communities also accepted NürnbergMesse’s invitation. The event made it clear that this move to gain a foothold in Greece is an important milestone in NürnbergMesse’s internationalisation strategy.
