- World Association of the Global Exhibition Industry appoints NürnbergMesse CEO to the Board for three years
Peter Ottmann, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, has been elected to the Board of the World Association of the Exhibition Industry UFI (Union des Foires Internationales) for the next three years. "I am looking forward to being able to represent Germany as an exhibition venue in the international exhibition world together with my German colleagues in the future. Around the globe, people organize trade shows to provide a stage for innovations - UFI makes this global industry visible," says trade show boss Peter Ottmann, who is also a member of the umbrella organization of the German trade show industry AUMA as Vice Chairman.
"I am proud that we have so many enthusiastic members who want to contribute to strengthening our industry. It is a challenging time to make such a contribution and to rebuild and relaunch our trade shows around the world. So I extend a big and personal thank you to all of the newly elected and re-elected members," said Michael Duck, UFI president and executive vice president of commercial development at Informa Markets.
The UFI Board is comprised of a maximum of 60 members and is re-elected every three years. During this process, members elect a global board with representatives from UFI chambers around the world. The Board is responsible for implementing the decisions of the General Assembly, developing UFI policy and making any proposals that affect the international exhibition industry. These proposals are presented to the UFI members for voting at the annual General Assembly.
