Our trainee program


During your 24-month trainee program, you will go on a journey of discovery in the world of trade fairs. You will gain an exciting insight into the world of trade fairs, congresses and events. Step by step, you will be introduced to our corporate culture, our projects and work processes and will be able to develop personally and professionally on an ongoing basis.

From day one, you will be part of the team at various stations, take on responsibility, contribute your ideas and achieve convincing results together with experienced colleagues.

FAQs Young Professionals

You will usually receive initial feedback from us within 3-4 weeks.

Please note that it may take a little longer during vacation or vacation periods. Even then, we will do our best to get back to you shortly about the status of your application!

The trainee program starts on 1 October and lasts a total of 24 months.

We expect to offer the next trainee programs at the beginning of 2026.

Step 1 - Confirmation of receipt 
As soon as you have successfully applied online, you will receive a confirmation of receipt from us by e-mail.

Step 2 - MS Teams call 
If your profile sounds interesting to us, the first meeting will take place via MS Teams. You will receive an invitation either by phone or email. 
The interview lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. During the call, you will get to know our HR colleague Katharina Modjesch and your mentor and/or manager.

Step 3 - Feedback 
After the MS Teams call, you will of course receive feedback from us as to whether we can imagine a match with you. You will usually receive feedback by e-mail or telephone.

Step 4 - Personal meeting/ case study
If the feedback from both sides is positive, we want to get to know you personally, because - trade fair business is people's business. It is important to us that we also match with each other in the real world. On this day, we are particularly interested in your motivation and the knowledge you have acquired so far.

In order to give you a good insight into your tasks as a trainee at NürnbergMesse, you will also receive a case study from us in advance, which you can prepare in advance and present your results in a personal meeting. We look forward to your input!

At the end, we will organize an exchange with one of our current trainees, who will be happy to answer further questions and give you an insight into the working environment.
Allow approx. 90 to 120 minutes for the on-site appointment.

Step 5 - Feedback & decision
After getting to know each other personally on site, you will receive feedback again, which will then lead to the final decision. 
If this decision is also positive on both sides - Welcome to NürnbergMesse! :-) 

You will receive personal support from your mentor right from the start. He/she will guide you with his/her strategic know-how and support you in your personal development.

Your “buddy” will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have and introduce you to our corporate culture.

If you have any questions about the traineeship process or general topics, our HR colleagues will always be on hand to help and advise you.

Your chances and career prospects are good if you successfully complete the traineeship and have impressed us with your performance. We also train with our own needs in mind and can offer talented trainees exciting prospects.

Yes, you can also join us directly as a graduate!
