Your work-study program

If you are not only looking for a way to earn extra money during your studies, but also want to apply your theoretical knowledge and get a taste of the trade fair atmosphere, NürnbergMesse offers you entry-level opportunities in various areas (events, marketing, services, controlling and much more).

Of course, we also understand how important your studies are - which is why we offer you flexible working hours within our flexitime framework. Want to work fewer hours during the exam period and more during the semester break? No problem! You can agree this with your manager at any time or simply take vacation.

And the best thing about it: every additional hour during the semester break pays off, because we pay according to the hours worked.

"By being involved in all areas, I gained a holistic insight into the diverse responsibilities of an HR department. In particular, the varied activities, the early transfer of responsibility and the strong cohesion and trusting cooperation within the team have made this time an extremely valuable and formative experience. I am all the more pleased to continue to be part of the NMfamily as a permanent employee after completing my studies."
Teresa Holtgreife, former working student in the HR department

Your internship

With us, you have the opportunity to complete both a voluntary internship and a mandatory internship.

As intensive support during the internship is important to us, we assign internships as required, especially in our event teams.

During and at the end of your internship, you will receive detailed feedback on your performance and development through our internship compass.

If opportunities arise within the company, we are always pleased when interns (m/f/d) remain with us, e.g. as working students (m/f/d) at NürnbergMesse!

"What I particularly appreciate about my work as a working student at NürnbergMesse is the international aspect - as part of BIOFACH, I had the opportunity to work at an exhibition with global significance and to experience how visitor marketing works on an international level. I was able to develop both professionally and personally through exciting tasks, a great working atmosphere and a strong team spirit. I particularly like the fact that as a working student I can also work abroad for a few days a year - I was able to combine work and vacation perfectly during my last vacation in Portugal."
Franca Müller-Hüftlein, working student in the marketing department

FAQs Students

You must be enrolled/registered at a university/college.

Of course, you should also fulfill the job-specific requirements.

You will usually receive initial feedback from us within 1 to 2 weeks.

Please note that it may take a little longer during vacation or vacation periods.

Even then, we will do our best to get back to you shortly about the status of your application!

Step 1 - Confirmation of receipt

As soon as you have successfully applied online, you will receive a confirmation of receipt from us by e-mail.

Step 2 - MS Teams call

If your profile sounds interesting to us, we will invite you to get to know us via MS Teams. You will receive an invitation by e-mail.

The interview will last approx. 30 to 45 minutes. In addition to the executive manager, a team colleague will usually also be present during the interview.

Step 3 - Feedback & decision

After getting to know each other via MS Teams, you will receive feedback from us and we will inform you of the team's decision by by e-mail or telephone.

If this decision is also positive on both sides - Welcome to NürnbergMesse! :-)

** Working hours

The working hours you can find in the respective job advertisement. This usually varies between 10 and 20 hours.

In principle, you are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours/week during your lecture period alongside your studies; up to 40 hours/week are permitted during the semester break. The latter is possible in consultation with your executive manager.

You are also allowed to work remotely on a daily basis.

** Working days

We fix your working days for continued pay, e.g. in the case of illness, vacation or public holidays. Your working hours are distributed evenly over these days (but flexitime also applies to you).

This gives you structure for your everyday university life and everyone involved can plan better. The days can of course be adjusted each semester.

In practice, it is also possible to switch your working days if, for example, you have already taken all your vacation days.

** Limitation

The duration of the assignment as a working student depends on the department or the requirements.

This can vary between 6 months or until exmatriculation. If there is no information on the time limit for the position, you can assume that employment is possible until your exmatriculation.

You can complete a compulsory internship with us, but also a voluntary internship during your studies. This means that you must be enrolled for an internship at NürnbergMesse.

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any opportunities to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis in cooperation with NürnbergMesse.
