Regional commitment
We understand ourselves to be active members of the regional community. We exercise social responsibility in many ways such as our cooperation with noris inklusion, our involvement in the SustaiNable Conference and our participation in Christopher Street Day.
Sharing knowledge: NürnbergMesse at the SustaiNable Conference
At the City of Nuremberg's Sustainability Conference in 2024, NürnbergMesse CEO Peter Ottmann discussed matters of sustainable urban development with science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar and Carla Reemtsma of Fridays for Future Deutschland, among other participants. One year later, our company acted as co-sponsor of the SustaiNable Conference, and participated actively in the twoday programme. At the discussion panel entitled “From Melting Point to Turning Point”, the panelists discussed the challenges and future outlook for energy-intensive industries such as the die-casting industry, members of which come together at the EUROGUSS Exhibition.

Volunteering at the “Kräuterfest”
Every year in May, the “Natur-Erlebnis-Gärtnerei” (nursery with a focus on nature discovery) of noris inklusion is transformed into a wonderfully colourful site for the “Kräuterfest” (Festival of Herbs) which attracts up to 5,000 visitors. Volunteers from NürnbergMesse also played an active role in this festival, as the first step in a new cooperation arrangement. “It was important to us that NürnbergMesse's employees interacted and worked side by side with our disabled employees. This is the only way to truly experience inclusion”, explains Wiebke Goldhammer of noris inklusion.
Volunteering in the service of ecological, social and economic sustainability.

It all began with the “Shift Change” Initiative
This cooperation arrangement was set into motion in 2024 by the “Shift Change” Initiative – a nationwide project of the German Federal Association of Sheltered Workshops (WfbM), which helps persons with disabilities obtain gainful employment in Germany. Peter Ottmann had visited the workshops of noris inklusion and invited their employees to visit NürnbergMesse in return.

International initiatives
Our subsidiaries also exercise corporate social responsibility in countries outside of Germany. In collaboration with the Brazilian NGO “Frei Tito”, NürnbergMesse Brasil collected toys for disadvantaged children on the occasion of International Children's Day (“Dia das Crianças”). And for Easter, it distributed donations to homeless people. In India, our subsidiary organized a Christkindlesmarkt modelled after the world-famous Christmas Market in Nuremberg. The gorgeously decorated Christmas tree was put together by craftswomen of the “Insha-e-Noor” Initiative – a project that provides employment and craft training to more than 80 disadvantaged women.
Celebrating diversity: NürnbergMesse employees at the CSD
NürnbergMesse also participated in the Nuremberg Christopher Street Day (CSD) for the first time in 2025. Our employees joined the demonstration carrying a banner, and engaged with participants at an information booth. An important sign of acceptance and equality, which are indeed fundamental principles of our international trade fairs in Nuremberg.
