Strong impetus for jobs, purchasing power, and tax revenue

NürnbergMesse is among the 15 largest trade fair companies worldwide – and provides sustainable impetus for the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region and the entire Free State of Bavaria.

The figures speak for themselves:

Effective value creation

According to an ifo study (December 2020), NürnbergMesse generates a total purchasing power of €1.93 billion. Of this, €1.11 billion is attributable to the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. NürnbergMesse thus makes a significant contribution to the region's economic strength and ensures sustainable revenue in numerous sectors.

Employment effects in the region

As an economic driver, NürnbergMesse creates around 15,000 jobs, according to the study.

Of these, approximately 10,000 jobs are located in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.

The trade fair's economic impact therefore extends far beyond the exhibition grounds and secures employment in the region for the long term.

Significant Tax Revenue

In addition to generating purchasing power and employment, NürnbergMesse also makes a substantial contribution to public tax revenue.

According to an ifo study, NürnbergMesse's activities generate €360 million in tax revenue.

The results of the ifo study clearly demonstrate that

NürnbergMesse is a stable and reliable economic factor that secures jobs, creates purchasing power, and generates public revenue – particularly for the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.

From taxi dispatch centers to hotels and restaurants, all the way to exhibition stand builders – the value chain is broad and sustainable.

Julia Rübsamen

“The city thrives on and with the trade fair. And the number and quality of hotels we have in Nuremberg would not exist if it weren't for the strong growth of NürnbergMesse over the last few decades.”

Julia grew up in the hotel and is now a passionate host herself. She has known many returning trade fair guests since childhood.
