WOMEN4PACKAGING: A stage for powerful voices in the packaging industry

Women are networking – and trade fairs provide the stage for this. With formats such as WOMEN4PACKAGING, WOMEN4PROCESSING, and Women4Cyber, several of our trade fairs in fall 2025 are creating spaces for exchange, visibility, and empowerment. The networks bring together women from industry, technology, and IT – across hierarchies, disciplines, and generations. In a series of interviews, we present the formats – and talk to the women who help shape them.

WOMEN4PACKAGING is FACHPACK's network format – and has already established itself as a fixture in its second edition. Around 200 women from the packaging industry came together on the first day of the trade fair to network, exchange experiences, and provide new impetus. In two rounds of presentations, speakers from companies such as Mosca, Tchibo, Lavera, and the Carton Group reported on career paths, challenges, and opportunities.
One of the prominent voices this year was Simone Mosca, CEO of MOSCA GmbH, who was part of the format as a speaker. In this interview, she talks about responsibility, visibility, and the power of networks.

Visibility creates connections – WOMEN4PACKAGING brings women in the industry together.

Ms. Mosca, you participated in WOMEN4PACKAGING this year as a speaker. What does this role mean to you personally?
For me, the role of speaker is an invitation to actively provide impetus – not only for women, but for everyone who wants to make a difference in the packaging industry. It's about taking responsibility for raising awareness of issues that are crucial and currently pressing in our industry. I want to champion change.

Why do you think formats such as WOMEN4PACKAGING are important for the industry?
Because they create spaces where exchange, inspiration, and collaboration are possible and encouraged – regardless of company size or hierarchy. They highlight the skills and ideas that women bring to the industry. This creates new connections that help us all move forward together. Diversity is key to innovation – across the entire value chain.

How can a format like WOMEN4PACKAGING empower women in the long term?
By offering them a stage to showcase their expertise. Visibility creates trust and opens doors. This not only empowers individual women, but also boosts the innovative strength of the entire industry. I want to encourage women – including those just starting their careers – to develop further in our industry.

What are your hopes for the future of WOMEN4PACKAGING?
I hope that the format continues to develop – into a network that provides ongoing support rather than just occasional assistance. It should be a place where ideas can grow, collaborations can emerge, and new perspectives can become visible. And above all, I hope that it remains a format that connects people and makes a lasting contribution.
