With 39 submissions, the innovation award celebrated a strong premiere at FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2026. An eight member jury selected the winner: the family-owned company Remmers from Löningen. Six other companies were also recognized on stage.

Jury member Waldemar Dörr, Managing Director of the Baden-Württemberg Glass, Window and Façade Association, expressed satisfaction with both the number and quality of submissions:
“With this award, future oriented solutions and their developers finally receive the recognition they deserve. Companies gain a stage, market acceptance increases, and our entire industry becomes more visible.”

Sustainable impregnation wins premiere

Induline I 130 is the name of the product that emerged as the winner. It is a sustainable impregnation solution with which Remmers specifically addresses the issue of bioactive substances. Conventional impregnation agents often make it more difficult to recycle wooden components at the end of their life cycle. “Induline I 130 opens up new options for returning materials to the value chain,” explains Benjamin Lindemann, Product Manager in Remmers’ Industry Business Unit. “With this, we are the first manufacturer in the window and door industry to offer a biozide free impregnation of this kind within a complete system.”

The Innovation Award highlights future ready solutions and strengthens their market acceptance.

The jury was convinced: all six criteria were fulfilled – innovation, functionality, sustainability, economic efficiency and market relevance, design quality, as well as additional aspects such as digitalization. In its statement, the jury highlighted that “this biozide free impregnation enables effective moisture protection while ensuring full recyclability of wooden windows for the first time.” Prior to submission, Remmers also underwent the so-called free weathering test in accordance with DIN EN 927 3 – a standardized procedure assessing the durability and performance of coatings and finishes under real environmental conditions.

Martin Stöger, Head of Industrial Coatings Sales at Remmers, commented: “We are very proud of this award. It shows that we are providing the right answers to the current challenges of the industry.” The winning company took part in the guided tour alongside the other awarded exhibitors, and all submitted products were showcased in a special exhibition at the trade fair.

Award strengthens the trade fair and accelerates innovation

According to jury member Waldemar Dörr, the new award also provides clear benefits for the trade fair itself: “It strengthens its position as a platform for forward looking solutions and highlights the importance of innovation in the construction industry.”

For exhibitors, the Innovation Award represents an ideal opportunity to step into the spotlight. For the industry, under constantly evolving requirements, it serves as a catalyst for new ideas.
