embedded award: Award winning innovations

For nearly 25 years, embedded world Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg has not only reflected the state of forward looking technologies but has increasingly helped shape their development. This is exemplified by the many companies that enter the race for the coveted embedded award at the trade fair with their new products and effective solutions.

A strong 119 submissions across nine categories clearly demonstrate both the high potential of developers and the prestige of the award within the industry. “Over the decades, the embedded award has impressively highlighted the consistently high pace of innovation across all segments of the sector,” emphasizes Axel Sikora. As chair of the jury, he adds: “This distinction provides companies with excellent visibility – and benefits embedded world itself.”

The nine categories reflect the complexity and diversity of the embedded systems landscape: Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Displays, Embedded Vision, Hardware, Safety & Security, SoC / IP / IC Design, Software, Startup, and Tools. The high level jury chaired by Axel Sikora nominated three finalists in each category and selected the winners in a second evaluation round. In addition, the community choice award complements the juried prizes as the industry’s audience award.

In 2026, submissions were received from developers around the globe. The winners of this year’s 22nd edition come from Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and the United States.

Drivers of innovation meet in Nuremberg

Embedded systems are part of everyday life almost everywhere: in household appliances, consumer electronics, vehicles, industrial machinery, and medical technology. They ensure smooth operation by handling control, regulation, and data processing tasks.

Their development is advanced year after year at embedded world in Nuremberg – a showcase of entrepreneurial ingenuity. One example this year is U.S. company Ceva, winner of the Artificial Intelligence category. Its energy efficient AI solution Ceva NeuPro Nano extends battery life, reduces material usage, and lowers the cloud footprint.

In the Hardware category, German developers from ioncentric succeeded in closing a critical gap in battery and electronics systems with eiscube & ioneis cloud, significantly extending system lifetimes and supporting sustainable value chains.

Global player Exein, headquartered in Rome, is a major force in cybersecurity. Its Exein Analyser automates the entire preparation process for security and product certifications – such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act – within a single workflow. Certification cycles can thus be reduced from months to weeks, while lowering costs and minimizing risks.

These are just three examples of the developer excellence gathered at embedded world.

International communities set trends and define standards

As the industry has evolved, so too has embedded world. What once served as a platform for classic embedded hardware has become an international meeting point for the entire value chain: developers, decision makers, start ups, research institutions, and global technology companies. “The thematic breadth has grown tremendously – and with it, the relevance of the event,” says Benedikt Weyerer, Executive Director embedded world Exhibition & Conference. “Today, embedded world is the central place where international communities set trends, define standards, and make innovation cycles visible.”

Another milestone underscores the trade fair’s significance: this year’s event concluded as its most successful to date, welcoming around 36,000 visitors from nearly 90 countries. In addition to Nuremberg, Shanghai, and Anaheim (USA), a fourth location in Bengaluru, India, will strengthen embedded world’s global presence beginning in November. The next edition in Nuremberg will take place from March 16 to 18.
