Sustainable exhibition stand construction: Eco-carpet as the new standard

Exhibition stand construction is an important factor on the road to sustainable exhibition operations. NürnbergMesse is switching its complete rental stands to the sustainable ECO-Rips carpet across the board. The sustainable carpet alternative produces around 23% less CO₂ during production and is as hard-wearing as a conventional exhibition carpet. Special areas in the exhibition halls have been covered with this carpet since the beginning of the year - for example, over 10,000 square meters were covered with it at IWA OutdoorClassics 2025.

The ECO-Rips carpet impresses with its decisive added value: after use, it is processed into granulate, completely reused as a secondary raw material and thus seamlessly returned to the material cycle. In cooperation with its service partners Messebau Wörnlein and Holtmann+, NürnbergMesse provides the carpet automatically in all complete rental stands, thus establishing it as the new standard in sustainable exhibition stand construction.

In addition to sustainable flooring, the choice of stand construction also makes a decisive contribution to the sustainability of a trade fair presentation. By using a system stand construction with reusable modules, exhibitors can significantly reduce the use of materials and minimize waste. Furthermore, flexible construction methods enable individual stand sizes and designs without exhibitors having to invest in expensive, customized solutions.

In addition to numerous other initiatives - from the energy offensive to waste and water savings to the company's own photovoltaic system - the sustainable carpet is another component of more sustainable exhibition operations at NürnbergMesse.
