75 years of Holtmann+: Celebrating what was - shaping what is to come

2025 is a special year for Holtmann GmbH & Co. KG.
The company is celebrating its 75th anniversary - a milestone characterized by precision craftsmanship, bold visions and a unique corporate culture. Founded in 1950 by Wilhelm and Walter Holtmann in Langenhagen, the story began with a small joinery. Today, Holtmann+ is an internationally active full-service provider for live communication.

From Langenhagen into the world: the first decades

What began as a local carpentry business quickly developed further: Holtmann recognized the potential of the emerging trade fair construction sector early on. With customers such as SABA, Kienzle and Westdeutscher Rundfunk , projects were already being realized in the 1960s not only in Germany, but also in Paris, Moscow and London. It was the beginning of an international success story.

Starting signal for Holtmann: Wilhelm and Walter Holtmann found their joinery and carpentry business.

The 1980s marked a new phase: Holtmann once again demonstrated its ability to innovate with its entry into civil engineering and innovative spatial solutions such as the GEOBAU spatial structure. Modular timber construction, sustainability and design precision characterized this era.

The 1990s were marked by change and professionalization: with the next generation joining the management and a strategic expansion of the company divisions, Holtmann positioned itself as a modern, service-oriented service provider in the field of trade fair construction and civil engineering.

The 2000s were also characterized by growth and vision. Expo 2000 in Hanover became the benchmark for the company's performance. At the same time, the company underwent a strategic change towards "LiveCom" - communication in space - and increasingly expanded its activities to international markets.

In the following decade, Holtmann's innovative strength manifested itself in new brands, creative spatial solutions and a consistent focus on sustainability. Projects at the world exhibitions in Shanghai and Milan, the expansion of digital tools such as virtual reality and numerous awards and certifications underlined the company's claim to set standards not only in terms of craftsmanship, but also in terms of content. The "Black Box" - the company's own creative and showroom - became a place to develop ideas.

The 2020s began with the challenge of the coronavirus pandemic - and became a driving force for transformation for Holtmann. With the introduction of a uniform brand strategy under "Holtmann+" and the expansion of digital, hybrid and strategic services, the company transformed itself from a traditional stand builder into a holistic LiveCom service provider. Sustainability, digital solutions and holistic brand staging have shaped the company's self-image ever since. With projects for clients such as Stadler, WAGO and IdeenExpo, Holtmann+ continues to demonstrate its creative power today - both nationally and internationally.

Further insights into the company's history and anniversary can be found on the Holtmann+ history and anniversary page.

Today: Authentic, sustainable, future-oriented

In 2025, Holtmann+ stands for much more than trade fair construction: as a 360° provider of live communication, the company supports its customers in the development and implementation of sustainable experiences - live, hybrid or digital. Always at the center: the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology.

A milestone in trade fair construction: Holtmann built the T-Digit for EXPO2000 in Hanover - a multimedia pavilion with the world's largest LED façade at the time.

A company that takes a stand

Holtmann+ has never made its path easy - and that is precisely why it is where it is today: In an industry that thrives on change, the company has become a shaper. At Holtmann+, sustainability is not just thought, it is done. Creativity arises from the interplay of experience and curiosity. The team - now over 130 employees - is both the heart and the driving force.

75 years is just the beginning

For Holtmann+, the celebration of its 75th anniversary is not a look back, but a new beginning. Together with customers, partners and its own team, the company is continuing on its path - with courage, a wealth of ideas and a clear commitment to quality and humanity
